Barcelona Beaches: Canet de Mar
Canet de Mar is situated along the coast, 43 km away from Barcelona city, between Arenys de Mar and Sant Pol de Mar. This area of Catalunya is well known for the cultivation of flowers and strawberries and Canet de Mar is mostly known for having several modernist architectural buildings.

Its small and beautiful urban area was once home to Lluis Domenech I Montaner, considered the “Father of Modernism”. Some modernist works we can admire at Canet are the Ateneu de Canet, Casa Roura, Casa Domenech I Montaner and the renovations of the Castle of Santa Florentina.
The beaches at Canet de Mar are sandy and flat, with an average width of 50m. Walking along the coast you can find several rock formations and vegetation. There are plenty of places to eat and drink along the seafront, and the beaches are accessible by foot and bike with a boardwalk running along most of the seafront.
If you want to stay at Canet de Mar there are some hotels and campsites for you to crash the night, we personally recommend Camping Globo Rojo located in a very spacious area and offering several services. Check them out in this link.
If you are looking for a quiet beach to relax and disconnect, Canet de Mar is your ideal spot.
